Well, the 2012 Republican National Convention is now over.
Immediate topline news: Romney won the presidential nod, with Paul Ryan as the veep choice.
Digging deeper: party bosses, perhaps in an effort to make a spectacle of the coronation of the new king, pushed though a number of odious rule changes, and disenfranchised many duly-elected delegates from several states.
Further: a number of dirty tricks — perhaps outright criminality — were resorted to in order to present this unified front.
I will of course hew to the behavioral norms mandated of a person in my office (Vice Chair of Boulder County Republicans). I will work diligently side-by-side with my fellow BCR members to get our entire slate of local candidates elected. As the weeks unfold, however, I am likely to skirt right up to the edge of what the bylaws allow. Why? It is my firm belief that there are insiders within the Republican National Committee that will stop at nothing to retain ham-fisted control over the party. These usurpers must be cast out. Either: before the tide of public opinion turns against our party, due to the craven lawlessness with which they are acting; or before the entire nation descends into a tyrannical despotism as did Germany through the ’20′s.
We are Republicans. We claim adherence to the rule of law. The vast majority of the rank and file actually live by this principle. We will not be dictated to by a criminal cabal at the top.
We are legion. We do not forgive. We do not forget. Expect us.
